Reflection I

I have really learned a lot from the course "English Composition III" this semester. Not only did I sharpen my English writing skills by using all those online tools, but also I have gained knowledge about how to design web pages by operating Wix e-portfolio. In the following paragraphs, I will reflect on some of the benefits and challenges I have encountered during this semester.

First of all, we start with the benefits of taking the course. The instructor of the course asked us to create an "e-portfolio" web page so that we could store our writing works on it. The biggest benefit of creating an e-portfolio is that we could have an online space to store our works. From time to time I would go on my e-portfolio, scrutinizing through my essays and journals, in which I found myself appreciating my own works.  It could potentially increase my willingness and confidence to write more. Secondly, the efforts that were done by the teaching assistant (abbreviate as TA) are highly appreciated. Coincidentally, all of my works were checked by the TA herself. I found my works were all precisely revised and examined by the TA. Some of the advice that was given by the TA get me to understand better my weaknesses in English writing. To have somebody to offer some feedbacks is crucial if one wants to improve his or her writing skills. Lastly, to a very great extent did the e-portfolio has had an impact on my writing experience. For the reason that I re-read my writings on the e-portfolio over and over again, I found that I could always find ways to polish my words, the writings can always be better. Now, I would usually store my writings on the internet, and revise them easily because of the convenience of the internet. Overall, the e-portfolio really creates me a better learning status in terms of English writing.

Next, we move on to discuss the challenges I encounter during this semester. In the beginning, I want to be clear that I am a person who lacks aesthetics. Thus it hits me hard when I learned that I have to design my e-portfolio.  My biggest challenge was to find appropriate pictures for the pages. Not only do the pictures have to corroborate the topic, but also they need to meet the designs of my pages. It turns out to be something that triggers me up, for I had a hard time finding pictures. I slowly overcome this difficulty by gaining more experience. I soon find the right pattern to search for pictures in the most efficient way.  The learning process reminds me of a saying that goes "practice makes perfect".

To sum up, even though I encountered numerous issues during the creation of my e-portfolio, I still find ways to push through and always get better. The use of Wix-portfolio offers students great opportunities to revise and store their precious works. Moreover, it encourages us to enhance our aesthetics toward things. Last, it functions as a modern way to engage in our English composition classes.
